Junior Library Guild Selection!

Six-Day Hero has been chosen as a Junior Library Guild Selection!

JLG acts as a prestigious curating service for its member libraries and schools, choosing only books they believe will be heavily checked out and read. Their selections usually win awards, get starred reviews and are checked out 81% more than non-selectees.

I am over the moon that Six-Day Hero made their cut!

Bathesda Barnes and Noble event

Hope you can visit me here!

June 12, 2pm.

I'll be hosting a story workshop and Barnes and Noble is running a short story contest.

I love contests (especially winning them!) That's how I got my start. Actually, that one writing contest in college is the only contest I've ever won. But nevermind that, now it's your turn...visit me Sunday, get inspired and write!

Hope to see you there!

SIX DAY HERO!

My first middle grade novel is coming out in 2017! Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War, SIX DAY HERO tells the story of Motti, a 12-year-old boy living in West Jerusalem in 1967.

This book came about after I discovered there was nothing in print (fiction or non-fiction) for elementary and middle school readers about modern-day Israel (basically since its founding in 1948 until today.) Israel is in the news so often, everyone has strong feelings about what's going on there, and yet there's nothing about what led to this point. There's nothing for kids to learn from but the latest headlines and the waves of opinion that follow.

I thought, this is ridiculous, someone should do something about this! And, then...oh, wait. Me. I should do something about this.

So I did. And you can read it in just a few month! SIX DAY HERO. Stay tuned...
